The Y7 pupils travelled with Mrs. Maguire & Mr. Conroy to Gortatole Outdoor Education Centre on Monday 13th June where they stayed for 2 nights. This has been an end of year activity for Y7 children at the school for many years now and one which the children were very much looking forward to, and which certainly didn't disappoint.
The children had a brilliant time taking part in the various activities and challenges which are so much part of a child's time at Gortatole. The children took part in caving, canoeing, wall climbing and archery, as well as many other smaller activities and games which they enjoyed during their stay. They developed their teamwork skills as well as their own self-confidence, qualities they will find useful in September when they transfer to their post-primary schools.
Overall the pupils and staff had a great time on their residential trip. Thanks are also expressed to Mrs. H. McCann who helped with transport to and from Gortatole.
