Trip to Parliament Buildings Stormont
The P6 & 7 children travelled to Stormont in Belfast today to gain a better understanding of the workings of the Northern Ireland Assembly. Although our MLAs are all away from Stormont preparing for next month's election, nevertheless the children had the opportunity to see where it all happens and find out about the important work that goes on there, work that does effect all of us in our daily lives.
The pupils really enjoyed their visit, the highlight of which was getting the opportunity to debate in the Assembly Chamber whether school uniforms should be scrapped or not. That proved to be a much closer vote than many experts had suggested! They also enjoyed visiting the play park which is in the grounds of the Stormont Estate.
