The children in P6/7 got their hands on the IZAK9 cubes over the last week and have had great fun carrying out a number of mental maths tasks using the popular maths resource. They enjoyed working together in teams, exploring different ways of calculating problems and explaining their mathematical thinking to their friends.
Today the children completed the eliminator task where they also had the opportunity to work together and create their own questions and pose them to the other teams in their class.
The photos shown also show the pupils working very well together in their groups to build up the cubes at the end of the lesson in order to store them away. All thoroughly enjoyed the activities and hope to see more maths activities using IZAK9 over the next few weeks.
