Nerve Centre Primary Partnership Programme
St Oliver Plunkett PS is delighted to announce that it has been successful in its application to Nerve Centre’s Primary Partnership Programme. The school’s application was selected via a competitive application process, against many other primary schools across the north of Ireland.
The programme, which has a value to the school in excess of £4,000 (the total cost of which will be met by Nerve Centre), will allow the school to avail of a one-year programme of training and support, customised to meet the needs of the school. By participating in the programme, the school aims to increase the use of multimedia and digital technologies in all classrooms.
Having focused on the UICT Desirable Features of Presenting, Publishing, Managing Data and Computational Thinking & Coding in recent years, the school will now use this opportunity to develop the area of Film & Animation. This will in turn help to further improve pupils’ achievement in literacy, focusing in particular on the area of Talking & Listening.
Staff training will begin in late August to set the foundations of the partnership and bring all teachers up to speed. All staff and pupils at St Oliver Plunkett PS are certainly looking forward to this exciting opportunity to work with Nerve Centre in the new school year.
