Maths Week Ireland 2016
Today marked the beginning of Maths Week Ireland 2016 in school. All pupils will be participating in a number of fun maths activities in class as the week progresses.
The children in the P6 & 7 classes took part in the Target Boards activity today which proved to be a great fun way for the pupils to practise arithmetic and they didn’t even realise they were working!
Target Boards were completed through the Maths Week website and consisted of a given set of 9 numbers and using any of these numbers (only once in each expression) and the four operators (+, -, x & ÷), the children had to find out how many expressions they could make that made up the target number.
This afternoon the pupils finished 3rd on the island of Ireland with a score of 838. Well done to all the P6 & 7 children for contributing to this excellent score. Some are hoping that we can beat it tomorrow!
