Irish News Croke Park Trip
The school was successful in the Croke Park Trip competition which was run by the Irish News recently. 26 pupils along with Mr Conroy, Mrs McGarvey and Mrs McCann travelled to Dublin today and got to see around the amazing stadium which Croke Park is (we were told that it's the 3rd largest stadium in Europe!).
Whilst they enjoyed hearing about the stadium, they also got to see some of the Cumann na mBunscol hurling and camogie finals as well as meet Monaghan football captain and 2 time All-Star Conor McManus. The pupils really enjoyed listening to Conor about how he prepares for games and the amount of training he has to do to be able to play at inter-county level. Some of the pupils reminded him that he might be meeting Tyrone soon in an Ulster Final!!
All the pupils really enjoyed the coach trip, the stadium tour and visit to the museum as well as being treated to their lunch at The Croke Park Hotel. All in all it was a great day and thanks again are extended to everyone who helped collect the tokens from the papers, because without your great efforts, the children wouldn't have had this opportunity. Thanks also to the Irish News for putting up such a wonderful prize.
