Extension of Grass Area at Rear of School

Sincere thanks are expressed to parents Mr Ronan Donnelly and Mr Seamus Grimes for giving up two full days and using their machinery to work on the piece of land at the back of the school. The men cleared the land of scrub which had grown over the years, ploughed and power harrowed the soil, before levelling, sowing out and rolling the ground. It’s great to know that we have the support of such willing parent volunteers within our school community.

It is hoped to use this additional land to extend the grass area at the rear of the school and reinstate the football pitch which was once there. There will also be a considerable area of land to the right of the pitch which has potential for numerous other activities, perhaps related to environmental education.

Thanks also to Fr. McGinley PP who played a significant role in signing the land over from the parish for the school to use.
