Eco-Club Week 6
Today at Eco-Club we started a school vegetable patch! Firstly, we explored the different types of fruit and vegetables that we can grow here in Ireland and in hotter countries. We looked at what we need to grow vegetables, correct spacing and the importance of compost and watering them daily. The pupils planted carrots, cabbage, potatoes and onions. We are also growing strawberries! We look forward to monitoring the progress of our vegetables in the upcoming months and we will remember to water them and protect them from insects. Also, when we were out, we noticed our bird feeders were empty and our lard fat balls were all eaten by birds. We have refilled our bird feeders to look after our birds in winter.
