Allianz Cumann na mBunscol, Thír Eoghain, held its Handball County Finals on Tuesday 26th January at Carrickmore Handball Alley. Primary schools from across the county competed for a number of titles in the U-11 and U-13 grades for girls and boys, at Singles and Doubles level.
Spectators were treated to a spectacle of the highest order, as the participants showcased their vast array of skills. It appeared that every ounce of energy was expended by these young Gaels in their bid to take a coveted title.
Our own school was well represented by some boys and girls from the P5-7 classes, all of whom also play for the local Brackey Handball Club. The girls in particular performed very well at the U-11 Singles and Doubles competitions, finishing runners-up in both and so taking home the silver medals. Well done to all the girls and also to the boys who also gave their all during the games.
