Hour of Code
10th Dec 2015
Michael introduces the concept of 'Coding' to the children.
A P.7 pupil was given instructions (programmed) by the remainder of the class to move from one position in the classroom to another.
'Fix the Factory' was one of the Apps that the pupils used.
Michael explained how it worked.
Level completed!
Some of the P.7 girls working out their code.
Pupils had to draw up the instructions to allow the robot to complete a task e.g. lifting an object and placing it somewhere else.
Using the app 'Hopscotch,' pupils had to programme an image to move around the screen and draw a 2-D shape.
Instructions were given to draw a square.
Pupils had to decide which instructions to use.
Some P.6 girls show the finished shapes which they have completed.
A decagon (10 sided shape) was drawn.
The app 'Tickle' was used to pogramme the drone which was to fly around the classroom in the outline of a square.
The drone ready for take-off!
Off it goes!
Look out Michael!
Thumbs-up, the pupils enjoyed their 'Hour of Code.'
P.6 & 7 completed their coding session with iTeach.
