P6 & 7 entered into the spirit by dressing in period costume.

This lady is explaining the types of food eaten by the poorer people of Ireland during the 1840s.
In the schoolhouse, full attention being paid here!
The teacher explains what the school day was like at that time, very different from today.
We met this poor lady on the road, she had just been evicted from her house by the landlord's agent.
The lady of the house in the Mellon Homestead - she showed us how the cooking was done in the wealthier houses of that time.
Some pupils even had the opportunity to help with the cooking.
The griddle was prepared by putting on some flour.
Then the soda farls were added to cook.
All aboard the ship to America.
The children learned about what the journey onboard was like, not pleasant!
This lady explained what food the passengers would have received on the ship, oat cakes.
We weren't sure if this woman was going to make it to America or not!
Once in America we met this character, he turned out to be a thief and stole Mrs McCann's bag.
The General Store had a variety of food on sale, most of which the Irish migrants would never have seen before.
Butternut Squash was one food in America which wouldn't have been in Ireland in the 1840s.
